Hillcrest Educational Centers Raises Over $60,000 from Annual St. Patrick’s Gala

PITTSFIELD, Mass. Apr. 5, 2016 – Hillcrest Educational Centers raised about $60,000 from their annual St. Patrick’s gala held on March 18th at the Country Club of Pittsfield. The generous lead sponsor for the event was Greylock Federal Credit Union. Other major community sponsors included General Dynamics Mission Systems, Rowley Fuel Company and Berkshire Bank.

Over 240 businesses and individuals supported the event through their attendance, sponsorships and donated auction items. To highlight the event, attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from a 15 year old Hillcrest student who shared his journey of losing his family in a fire and being in and out of failed placements. His foster parent also told an amazing story of resilience and how his son has overcome so many obstacles.

President of the Massachusetts State Senate, Senator Stanley Rosenberg, was selected for the “Irish Person of the Year” award and UNICO was honored with the “Judge John A. Barry Award” for Community Service.

Hillcrest’s Director of Development and Community Relations, Tim Gallagher, said of the event, “The challenge of meeting the incredible treatment needs of the children we serve is a continuous process. We feel honored that the individuals and businesses in this community understand this need and have consistently supported Hillcrest. This event was one of our most successful to date and we thank each and every person for their help in recreating the future of the children we serve”.
